MATA GREY
Mata is an outstanding guitarist who truly embodies the spirit of fun and good vibes both on and off stage. His motto, "If I'm having a good time, you're gonna have a good time," is a testament to his constant and genuine positive outlook on life and music. On stage, Mata is an electrifying performer who never fails to impress his fans with his skillful guitar playing and dynamic stage presence. Off stage, he is just as engaging and personable, always connecting with people and creating a welcoming atmosphere wherever he goes. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, making him the life of the party. In short, Mata is the “Spirit Animal” we all have inside us.
BIG ROME
Big Rome is without a doubt, the heartbeat of the Common Kings. His impeccable drum skills and effortless “pocket” are what keep the band locked in. Big Rome's positive energy and fun-loving personality precedes him everywhere he goes. He's the kind of guy you want in your corner, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is truly the silent assassin - his natural personality is humble and understated, but once behind the drums, he unleashes like no other. Common Kings is a force to be reckoned with, and Big Rome is at the center of it all.
UNCLE LUI
Uncle Lui’s energy is truly infectious and stage presence is unmatched. Uncle Lui is the backbone of Common Kings playing s a crucial role in maintaining Common Kings cohesion and success. Uncle Lui is a selfless individual who puts the needs of his bandmates before his own. He is the type of person who would happily give you the shirt off his back and celebrate with you over a beer and a shot. His unwavering loyalty is a testament to his character and integrity.

COMMON KING
Common Kings’ style and music is a collection of inspirations orchestrated into an array of head rocking beats, feel good vibes, and emotional fever. Their crazy, fun-loving attitude compliments Common Kings’ live sound, producing phenomenal hits with rock, reggae, and island influences. These influences originate from each band members love for various genres, and widespread knowledge of music.
The majority of Common Kings were born in the South Pacific, and raised in Orange County, California. Growing up with households full of colorful personality and vibrant passions for music, Common Kings’ members naturally grew up forming individual musical paths. This musical journey involved mimicking and listening to artists such as Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Geourge Benson, Jim Croce, Michael Jackson, The Who, Led Zepplin, Gypsy Kings, Earth Wind and Fire, Bob Marley and more. The culmination of these musicians explains exactly who the Common Kings are.
Where everything comes to a point is through lead singer Sasualei “Jr King” Maliga. Jr King is perhaps one of the most powerfully impressive vocalists amongst today’s leading artists. Born with this untrained raw-talent, Jr King’s singing ability seems boundless, as he amazes listeners with a wide range of belting notes and soulful passion. His humble demeanor off-stage needs no introduction as to when the band is rocking out on-stage creating a young, wild, and free atmosphere.
